Answer
I definitely like the nd one, the first one isnt quite as realistic. I dont think he would fall in love with someone outside of his species. But the nd one reminds me of when people get make overs, lets say youre best friends with someone, but youd never go out with them, you just think of them as your geeky friend until they get a make over and suddenly become a glamorous person. So, the nd one is more relate able and you could even put a spin on out so that she finds someone else but he likes her etc. etc.
